Linear pointset from point to point

This function allows you to create a set of points between 2 selected points. These points describe the extent and direction of the linear set.

Point Representation

You can select the point representation method (cross or dot) in the User Settings - Graphics tab.

Access

  • In the Wireframe tab, click the icon in the Pointset section of the ribbon.
  • Type point in the Quick Search field and select Linear from the result list.

This opens the Linear Options tab which is displayed along with the ribbon containing the Filters and Attributes sections. In addition, the Point-point linear set dialog box is displayed. Closed(See dialog box.)

Procedure

  1. Click on the first point of the pointset.
  2. Click on the last point of the pointset.
  3. Define the Number of points in the corresponding field:

  4. Validate, either by a Right Mouse click or by clicking the icon in the dialog box.

These two icons at the top of the dialog box allow you to Apply the current values or to Cancel the current function.

Preview generation is Automatic if this option is active in the dialog box menu accessed by clicking on the icon. If this option is not active, click on the icon. If preview generation is not possible, the icon is greyed out.

First point on set and Last point on set

For both:

Clicking on the icon switches back into the point selection mode allowing you to select another point in the graphic area.

Information Field

The field at the bottom of the dialog box displays information about missing data, errors or actions.
